The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education decided to introduce special measures to protect school students from dengue mosquito bites.
The ministry issued a directive advising all school principals to implement two primary steps within schools to safeguard children from the threat of dengue.
Principals must allow students to wear suitable clothing that covers their arms and legs completely, in addition to the standard school uniform, during school hours.
The official announcement further requests school heads to instruct students on using quality-standard mosquito repellents.
