Red notice to be issued for Hinatiyana Mahesh: CCD tells court

Steps are being taken to issue a Red Notice in English for a suspect currently overseas, named Supun Dayaratne alias Hinatiyana Mahesh, in connection with the killing of Ganemulla Sanjeewa.

The Colombo Crime Division informed Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama of this.

The Magistrate ordered the suspects related to the incident to be remanded in custody until July 24.

Measures were taken to arrest the organised criminal named Hinatiyana Mahesh, who is currently abroad in connection with the slaying of this person.

Further presenting facts regarding the incident, the Colombo Crime Division noted this. The Colombo Crime Division informed the court that the International Police were also notified regarding this.

Another 30-day detention period until August 12 was obtained since the 30-day detention period granted for the main female suspect related to the incident, named Ishara Sewwandi, concluded.

The Colombo Crime Division presented facts to the court on this.

Furthermore, a request was made to the court to issue orders to the relevant companies to obtain the IMEI numbers of the mobile phone belonging to the 44th suspect in this incident.

The suspect related to the incident was presented via Zoom technology.
