Clash between Chinese nationals at Port City, one abducted

One Chinese national was abducted following a heated situation that arose among a group of Chinese nationals in the Colombo Port City premises, and a firearm was also found inside a vehicle connected to the incident, our reporter reported.

Around 11 last night (22), three Chinese nationals arrived at Port City in a modern jeep and were fishing on the hanging bridge.

Later, around 2 a.m. today, another group of about 15 Chinese nationals who arrived in a KDH-type van parked the vehicle at the Port City car park and went to the hanging bridge, and it is reported that the group who arrived in that manner assaulted the three Chinese nationals who were fishing and abducted one person.

Furthermore, our reporter mentioned that information regarding the abducted person has not been revealed to date.

The group that arrived for the assault left the KDH type van at the scene of the incident, and when police inspected the vehicle, a foreign-made revolver was found inside it.

Further investigations regarding the incident are being conducted by the Port City Police.
