Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said Tuesday that the United States has been preventing Israel from striking Iranian energy infrastructure due to economic and energy concerns.
“We very much want to strike Iran’s energy targets – the US is not approving it at this time,” Katz said. Washington is concerned that such attacks could prompt Iranian retaliation against neighboring states and trigger a global oil crisis, he added.
Speaking at a conference held by Israel’s Channel 14, Katz also confirmed that American fighter jets operate from Israel en route to strikes on Iran.
