Red landslide warnings issued for several areas

Landslide early warning notices were issued by the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) for several Divisional Secretariat divisions in 04 districts due to heavy rainfall in many parts of the island.

Accordingly, the notice will remain valid for a 24-hour period from 12:00 p.m. today (03) until 12:00 p.m. tomorrow (04).

Level 3 - Red evacuation alerts were issued for Ududumbara, Ganga Ihala Korale, and Pasbage Korale Divisional Secretariat divisions in the Kandy District, Yatiyantota in the Kegalle District, and Ambagamuwa and Norwood in the Nuwara Eliya District.

Level 2 - Amber alerts were issued for Doluwa, Udapalatha, Deltota, Medadumbara, and Panwila in the Kandy District; Dehiowita, Deraniyagala, Bulathkohupitiya, and Aranayaka in the Kegalle District; Kotmale East, Kotmale West, and Nuwara Eliya in the Nuwara Eliya District; and Opanayaka, Ratnapura, and Imbulpe in the Ratnapura District.

Level 1 - Yellow watch alerts were issued for the Kegalle Divisional Secretariat division in the Kegalle District, Hanguranketha in the Nuwara Eliya District, and Kuruwita and Nivitigala in the Ratnapura District.
