Unlicensed canned fish factory raided

A canned fish factory operated without a valid licence in the Elabadagama area of Pannala was raided by the Consumer Affairs Authority.

A stock of canned fish worth nearly 1.5 million rupees found at the location was taken into official custody, the authority stated.

During the investigation, it was revealed that information was received indicating the manufactured canned fish were sold to various supermarkets.

Legal action is scheduled to be taken against the factory, and the suspects along with the stock of canned fish are scheduled to be produced before court following further investigations.
