Red notices to bring back 93 suspects hiding abroad

Red notices have been issued through the International Police for the return of 93 suspects involved in crimes in the country who have fled to foreign countries, Police Media Spokesperson, ASP F.U. Wuttler said.

He said this while participating in a press conference held in Colombo today to brief on the contribution and progress of the tri-forces and the police regarding the 'Ratama Ekata' national operation.

Speaking further, the police media spokesperson also revealed information regarding the quantities of drugs taken into police custody during the past period and their destruction.

Accordingly, during the period from October 30, 2025 until yesterday, 2,259 kilogrammes and 129 grammes of heroin, 2,653 kilogrammes and 545 grammes of ice, and 293 kilogrammes and 755 grammes of cocaine taken into police custody.

Following the conclusion of judicial proceedings and legal matters, steps have been taken to destroy a quantity of 4,652 kilogrammes and 857 grammes of dangerous drugs arrested during the past three-year period (2024, 2025, and 2026), Police spokesman Wuttler mentioned.
