NPP councillor’s son among two remanded over drugs

Maligakanda Magistrate's Court ordered two suspects, including a son of a National People's Power councillor of the Kolonnawa Urban Council who was arrested with drugs, to be remanded.

Police Narcotic Bureau recently succeeded in arresting a son of a Compass municipal councillor of the Kolonnawa Urban Council with drugs.

That was during a special search operation conducted by the Police Narcotic Bureau in Kolonnawa and surrounding areas.

There, the officers succeeded in arresting two suspects.

Meanwhile, the Police Narcotic Bureau inspected a suspicious individual, and it was revealed that he had come to obtain drugs from another person.

Accordingly, police arrested that suspect, used him as an agent, and had him make a phone call to the person selling drugs.

Accordingly, the person selling drugs arrived with 05 grams of ICE, and the Police Narcotic Bureau arrested him as well.

Following interrogations conducted on him, the house of the person selling drugs was inspected, and Police Narcotic Bureau officers succeeded in finding 75 grams of ICE in that house.

The suspect was produced before the Maligakanda Magistrate's Court recently, where it was ordered that he be remanded.
