‘Kehelbaddara Padme’ remanded until September 3

Koralagamage Mandinu Pathmasiri Perera, alias ‘Kehelbaddara Padme,’ who was detained and interrogated under the Prevention of Terrorism Act in the custody of the Criminal Investigation Department, was ordered to be remanded until the 03rd by Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama today (25).

The court issued this order following the representation of facts made by the Criminal Investigation Department regarding the incident.

The suspect was brought to court by the Criminal Investigation Department today (25) under heavy security.

Submitting facts to the court regarding the incident, investigation officers stated that charges were framed against this suspect under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.

Furthermore, the Criminal Investigation Department requested the court to issue an order to the Superintendent of Prisons to present the suspect to court on the 4th, the date on which the case is called again, as this suspect is also named as the 18th suspect regarding the incident of murdering Ganemulla Sanjeewa.

Additionally, the Criminal Investigation Department requested the court to place the suspect in remand custody as the detention period expired, after he was arrested at the Katunayake International Airport on August 31 2025, upon arrival from Indonesia and interrogated under detention orders until today.

Taking the presented facts into consideration, the court remanded the suspect until the 03rd.
