Properties worth Rs. 6 billion belonging to alleged organised criminals and drug traffickers were frozen, according to the Illegal Assets Investigation Division.
66 suspects were brought back to the country from 21 September 2024 to date.
The Illegal Assets Investigation Division stated that these properties and assets were frozen in connection with 113 investigations concerning suspects accused of organized crime and drug trafficking, including the aforementioned suspects.
Accordingly, properties worth Rs. 5,423 million belonging to 102 suspects belong to drug traffickers, whilst properties worth Rs. 209 million belonging to three individuals belong to organized criminals.
Properties worth Rs. 367 million belonging to eight individuals linked to pyramid scams and explosives offences are also included among them.
It is noted that among the frozen properties are 2 kilograms and 140 grams of gold, 136 acres of land, 55 houses, and 142 vehicles.
Among the suspects brought to the country since 21 September 2024 are 28 suspects for whom Red Notices were issued, while 38 suspects were brought without Red Notices issued.
Following September 2024, 110 new Red Notices required to bring back suspects through Interpol were issued.
The total number of Red Notices issued by local police stood at 236 as of 18 August.
Among them, 96 Red Notices were obtained for organized criminals.
According to police reports, countries where 35 of them are located were identified, with 18 suspects hiding in the United Arab Emirates and 11 in India.
The relevant reports state that one suspect each is hiding in the United Kingdom, France, Russia, Canada, and Italy.
