A special expert committee has been appointed to study the proposal regarding the creation of an intermediate grade for medical officers and to submit recommendations.
The committee was appointed on the instructions of Minister of Health and Mass Media Nalinda Jayatissa, with Deputy Minister Hansaka Wijemuni serving as its chairman.
The committee is scheduled to conduct a comprehensive study on defining the proposed intermediate grade, identifying the medical fields to be included, and establishing the selection procedures, duration, and benefits available to medical officers entering the relevant fields.
