Sri Lanka’s real estate leaders to chart 10-year vision at RIUNIT forum

Sri Lanka’s real estate sector is set to take a forward-looking step as leading industry figures gather next month to map out a 10-year growth strategy for the sector.

The Research Intelligence Unit (RIUNIT) will host “Driving Growth Through Real Estate: 10 Year Plan”, a high-level forum bringing together key voices from property development, investment, policy, and urban planning.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday, 5 May 2026, from 2.30 pm to 7.00 pm at the Port City Sales Gallery in Port City Colombo, a landmark development symbolising Sri Lanka’s long-term urban ambitions.

The forum marks the first in a series of structured sessions under RIUNIT’s 10-year real estate roadmap. Discussions will focus on positioning Sri Lanka as a competitive global real estate investment destination, strengthening Port City Colombo as an investment hub, and developing a more inclusive, people-centric approach to residential development.

“This is not just another industry conference,” said Roshan Madawela, Founder and CEO of RIUNIT. “It is the beginning of a structured long-term plan to position Sri Lanka as a leading international real estate investment destination, capable of attracting a significant share of global institutional real estate investment.”

He added that the discussions must also address affordable housing as part of a broader national development strategy.

The panel brings together some of Sri Lanka’s leading names in real estate and investment, including Premalal Brahmanage (Prime Group), Amaya Herath (Home Lands Group), Namal Pieris (ICC), Minoli Wickramasinghe (Capital Trust Properties), Revan Wickramasuriya (Colombo Port City Economic Commission), Hiroshini Fernando (RIL Properties PLC), Romali Tudawe (Tudawe Brothers), Priyanka Samaraweera (Board of Investment of Sri Lanka), and Reza Magdon-Ismail (Crystal Property Group).

The sessions will be moderated by Roshan Madawela and Dr. Anil Priyanka of RIUNIT, with Nilesh De Silva, Member of RIUNIT Advisory Board and Chartered Architect, also joining as a key moderator.

The event is supported by the Colombo Port City Economic Commission, International Construction Consortium (ICC), Prime Group, and Home Lands Group.
