Sri Lankan business delegation heads to Australia after 15 years

A Sri Lankan business delegation representing the cream of the Sri Lankan corporate sector will be in Australia from August 17 to 21 to participate in two Business forums. These will be held from August 17 to 21 in Sydney and from August 24 to 27 in Melbourne.

The event is being organised by the Australia-New Zealand Business Council (SLANZBC) of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.

Chandana Amaradasa, President of SLANZBC, said that a Sri Lankan business delegation is visiting Australia after a lapse of more than 15 years.

“The 28-member Lankan business delegation will be represented by companies engaged in logistics, IT-BPO, agriculture and trading sectors.”

“We have coordinated with several Australian companies and top decision-makers and CEOs from both Sydney and Melbourne who have confirmed their participation in these two Business forums.

“In addition, the local delegation will also be meeting some of the leading buyers and sellers in Australia at some of the networking sessions that have been organised between the two events.”

The Australian counterparts have indicated that they are keen to meet the Sri Lankan business delegation, since an event of this magnitude is taking place after twenty years, creating new opportunities for stronger bilateral business ties.
