Imperial College of Business Studies (ICBS) hosted the Imperial College Academic Summit 2026, bringing together academics, industry leaders, researchers and education professionals to discuss academic excellence and innovation in higher education.
The summit focused on emerging trends in global education, the growing role of artificial intelligence, industry integration and graduate employability, reinforcing Imperial College’s commitment to internationally recognised education and academic leadership in Sri Lanka.
Academic Director Pravinth Rajaratnam opened the programme with a welcome address, followed by a presentation from Dr. M. Ganeshamoorthy, Dean of Imperial College, on the institution’s achievements and future plans.
Dr. Ganeshamoorthy highlighted the College’s continued investment in academic quality, international partnerships and student outcomes.
Keynote addresses by industry experts explored digital transformation, evolving industry expectations and the skills graduates need to compete in a rapidly changing global economy, including critical thinking, leadership and technological competency.
The sessions also focused on strengthening collaboration between academia and industry and ensuring that academic programmes remain aligned with changing workplace requirements.
Representatives from Imperial College reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to globally recognised qualifications and meaningful industry engagement, while highlighting its focus on preparing graduates for both domestic and international careers.
