The Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union (SLRFU) elections are set to take place this afternoon (08) at the Ministry of Sports auditorium.
The election is being held under new, revised regulations, and the SLRFU confirmed yesterday afternoon (07) that the poll would proceed without hindrance, following the conclusion of related legal action.
Two candidates are vying for the Presidential post: former SLRFU President Lasitha Gunaratne and former Rugby Executive Committee member Pavithra Fernando.
The overall ballot comprises 54 votes, which the top-tier clubs and the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Union hold.
All positions within the Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union, except for the President and Treasurer, have already been filled unopposed.
