The International Cricket Council has officially reprimanded Sri Lankan spin bowler Prabath Jayasuriya and handed him one demerit point following an incident during the second Test match between India and Sri Lanka.
The breach occurred near the end of play on day two, when a dismissed Jayasuriya struck the boundary wedges with his bat while returning to the player dressing room.
Jayasuriya admitted to the offence, which violated the International Cricket Council Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, avoiding the need for a formal hearing.
