Nadeeka Lakmali of Sri Lanka has gained first place in the Javelin Throw event in Stage 3 of the Asian Athletics Grand Prix and thus maintaining position in all three stages.
Lakmali cleared 56.83 meters to win the only gold medal for Sri Lanka at Thamasat University Ground at the first leg of the Asian Grand Prix Athletic Championships on May 4th.
She then cleared a distance of 55.99 meters in the second stage to win another gold on may 8th.
Meanwhile Manjula Kumara has taken 1st place in the High jump event of the Asian Grand Prix - Stage 3 with a personal best of 2.24 meters.
W.K.L Nimali finished 1st place in the Women’s 800 meters event by clocking in a time of 2 minutes and 5.92 seconds, giving Sri Lanka its third Gold Medal in the 3rd Stage of the championship today.
