The Ceylon Workers’ Congress has decided to form an alliance with the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna to secure the authority of 11 local government bodies in Nuwara Eliya district.
A senior Vice Chairman of Ceylon Workers’ Congress said that both parties reached a consensus to award the Chairman posts of Hatton – Dickoya Urban Council and Nuwara Eliya Pradeshiya Sabha to the Ceylon Workers’ Congress and to award the Deputy Chairman posts to Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
