Colombo, June 8 - Two people were killed this morning after their car collided with a train at the Enderamulla railway crossing, police reported.
The accident occurred when a Colombo-bound train from Badulla collided with the car, which was traveling from Enderamulla towards Wattala. According to preliminary reports, the car attempted to cross the tracks despite the signal lights warning of the oncoming train.
The victims have been identified as a 54-year-old man from Biyagama and a 34-year-old woman employed in the private sector in Colombo. Both died at the scene of the crash.
The Enderamulla Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
