Former Cabinet Minister Gamini Lokuge passed away last night (30) at a private hospital in Colombo.
His funeral is scheduled to take place on Thursday (3), at the Dole Kanaththa Public Cemetery in Piliyandala.
Gamini Lokuge, who served as a minister for the United National Party (UNP) in the 1980s and 1990s, later joined the Mahinda Rajapaksa government after 2009.
He last entered Parliament representing the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) and served as the Cabinet Minister of Power and Energy.

His remains will be placed for public respect at his residence, No. 157/10/A, Honnanthara, Piliyandala, from noon today (1) until Thursday (3).
