The 48-hour strike launched by government doctors will end at 8:00 a.m. today (11).
The Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) spokesperson, Dr. Chamil Wijesinghe, stated that this decision was taken by the special central committee of the association which met yesterday (10).
The strike commenced the day before yesterday on the basis that the Ministry of Health granted internship appointments in violation of conditions agreed upon with the association, and the action continued for a second day yesterday.
Patients faced numerous difficulties due to the industrial action.
