The Department of Meteorology announced that showers or thundershowers may occur at several locations in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western, North-Central, and Eastern provinces today (May 3) after around 2:00 PM.
Additionally, the districts of Badulla, Galle, and Matara are also likely to experience similar weather conditions.
Heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm is expected at some places in the Sabaragamuwa Province and in the districts of Colombo, Kalutara, Galle, and Matara.
The department further noted that coastal areas in the Southern Province, as well as parts of Colombo and Kalutara districts, may experience morning showers.
Misty conditions can be expected in some areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces, along with the Ampara District, during the early morning hours.
