The International Monetary Fund country team will visit Sri Lanka from June 24-30 for a staff visit.
According to IMF Senior Mission Chief for Sri Lanka, Evan Papageorgiou, the team will engage with the authorities and a broad range of stakeholders to assess recent economic developments and discuss the performance of Sri Lanka’s economic reform programme.
The IMF recently approved the combined fifth and sixth reviews of Sri Lanka’s programme under the Extended Fund Facility, granting access to 695 million US Dollars to support the country’s economic policies and reform efforts.
The island nation’s US$ 2.9 billion bailout programme concludes in March next year.
US$ 2.4 billion from that sum has been disbursed so far.
