An alleged drug trafficker was arrested yesterday (28) along with a high-capacity motorcycle bearing fake number plates.
The suspect was arrested during a raid conducted by the officers of the Tangalle Pattiyapola Police Special Task Force in the Gangulandeniya area of Katuwana, based on information received by the Hambantota Army Intelligence Unit.
The arrested individual is a 45-year-old resident of the Ambagasara area in Gangulandeniya, Katuwana.
The suspect is involved in drug trafficking, preliminary investigations revealed.
The high-capacity motorcycle, which he rode using fake number plates, is valued at approximately 3.5 million rupees, reports indicated.
The suspect and the motorcycle were handed over to the Katuwana Police Station for further investigations.
