A high-level meeting led by Minister of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development Wasantha Samarasinghe and Minister of Energy Anura Karunathilaka took place to resolve multiple challenges facing cooperative fuel stations.
The discussion centered on several critical areas, including profit margins and discounts for cooperative fuel stations, credit-based fuel distribution, unresolved land ownership matters, and the construction or refurbishment of retail outlets.
Deputy Minister of Cooperative Development Upali Samarasinghe, Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Chairman Janaka Rajakaruna, and Managing Director Mayura Neththikumara participated in the session alongside senior ministry officials, cooperative society chairmen, and general managers.
