A 21-year-old Tunisian tourist died after being swept away while surfing off the Weligama sea.
The tourist was surfing with a group of Tunisian nationals at the Parana Kade beach area in Weligama on Saturday (08), when he was caught in a current amid strong winds and went missing, police said.
Police lifeguards, Coast Guard personnel, and private divers launched a search but were unable to locate him.
His body was found washed ashore at the same beach today morning (09).
Weligama Police are conducting further investigations.
