The David Pieris Group has unveiled a major step in its international growth strategy with the acquisition of a 50 per cent stake in Navire Logistics Services L.L.C., a logistics firm operating in Dubai and Oman.
The move represents a key development for the Sri Lankan conglomerate as it strengthens its foothold in overseas markets. By combining its established capabilities in warehousing and freight forwarding with Navire’s regional network, the Group aims to improve logistics efficiency across the Middle East and South Asia.
Its Sri Lankan subsidiary, D P Logistics (Private) Limited, already plays a leading role in the domestic logistics sector and manages one of the largest container fleets in the country.
This latest investment builds on the Group’s ongoing expansion in maritime services, following its purchase of Pulsar Shipping Agencies in 2022.
Commenting on the expansion, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of D P Logistics (Private) Limited, Kalum Katipearachchi, said the Group’s growing Middle Eastern workforce of over 60 staff continues to deliver high operational standards, offering integrated and practical solutions to meet increasingly complex global supply chain demands.
He added that a strong focus on integrity, accuracy and dependability underpins all operations, whether in local logistics or international freight management.
The transaction also covers a wholly owned subsidiary in Oman, with plans already under way to broaden the Group’s footprint into Saudi Arabia, Thailand and India.
