The long wait is over. After 53 years of sometimes painful anticipation the New York Knicks are NBA champions once again.
Their 94-90 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in Saturday’s Game 5 sealed a 4-1 series victory in the NBA finals.
And once again it was their relentless guard Jalen Brunson who was at his best when it mattered. His 45 points sealed the sweetest of victories for his team.
“I don’t know what I’m feeling,” Brunson, fighting back tears, said after the game. “I’m just like, I’m in awe. I don’t know. Whenever someone counted us out, we found a way to come back and do something about it.”
