Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena ordered the Fort Police yesterday (13) to file complaints against 19 Chinese nationals who were released on bail after being arrested and produced before court on suspicion of committing financial fraud online and staying in Sri Lanka in violation of immigration laws.

The Magistrate, informed the Police to file complaints against them on August 31.

The Police also informed the court that reports from the Computer Forensic Department of the Criminal Investigation Department and the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team regarding the incident were not received yet.

These 19 Chinese nationals appeared before open court when the case was called.

A team of lawyers including Senior Counsel Nalinda Indatissa made submissions to the court on behalf of the suspects.
