LPL tournament begins today

LPL+tournament+begins+today
The premier league cricket tournament in the country, the LPL tournament, begins today (17).

The opening ceremony will be held at 7.30 p.m. at the SSC Grounds in Colombo.

The first match of the tournament is scheduled to be played between Jaffna Kings captained by Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Galle Galants captained by Dasun Shanaka.

Colombo Caps captained by Kusal Mendis, Dambulla Sixers captained by Dinesh Chandimal, and Kandy Royals captained by Angelo Mathews are the other teams participating in the tournament.

Matches will be held at the Colombo SSC, R. Premadasa, Pallekele, and Rangiri Dambulla stadiums, and a prize money of 30 million rupees will be awarded to the champions, tournament director Samantha Dodanwela said.
