The Supreme Court rejected to issue a restriction order today preventing Uva Provincial Council Chief Minister Harin Fernando from holding his current position.
The Court took this decision after considering a petition filed by a group of UPFA’s Uva Provincial Councilors and UPFA General Secretary Susil Premajayantha, challenging the appointment of Harin Fernando as the Uva Provincial Council Chief Minister after removing Shasheendra Rajapaksa from that post.
However, the Supreme Court decided to hear the petition on June 19th.
