A 24-year-old telephone repairman from Ruwanmaduwa, Tanthirimale, was arrested yesterday (2 October) on suspicion of selling drug pills to schoolchildren during a school event in Tanthirimale, according to the Tanthirimale Police.
The incident came to light after four students fell ill during the school ceremony.
An investigation into the matter revealed that these students had consumed drug pills.
Police launched an immediate investigation, which led to the arrest of the suspect along with two drug capsules.
The Tanthirimale Police are conducting further inquiries.
