Three Sri Lanka Army personnel have been injured after a hand grenade detonated unexpectedly during a joint training drill at the Army Training School in Maduru Oya.
The incident occurred this morning (29) while the soldiers were participating in an exercise.
The injured personnel sustained minor leg injuries and have been taken to Polonnaruwa Hospital for treatment.
Hospital sources state that their condition is not critical.
The training involved a joint exercise between the Sri Lanka Army and the Russian Army.
