Main suspect in Dehiwala shooting arrested

The main suspect—the motorcyclist—involved in the shooting incident near the Dehiwala railway station on 18 July has been arrested with 50 grams of 'Ice' (crystal methamphetamine), five swords, and a dagger.

The arrest was made yesterday evening (October 3) near the Dehiwala bus stop by officers from the Mount Lavinia Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau (DCIB), who had been investigating the crime.

The suspect is a 34-year-old resident of Sivali Road, Mount Lavinia.

The Mount Lavinia Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
