The Joint Opposition has secured victory in the election to appoint the Chairman and Board of Directors of the Udunuwara Cooperative Society, winning by a majority of nine votes.
A notable outcome of the vote was the failure of the Jathika Jana Balawegaya (JJB) to secure a single vote.
The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Udunuwara organiser, Madhava Jayawardena, stated that although the NPP employed various strategies to win this election, the success of the opposition's combined effort led to a decisive defeat for the JJB.
