Individual killed after being struck by train at Kadugannawa

A young man has died after being hit by a train near the Kadugannawa railway station, according to the police.

Police have identified the deceased as a 27-year-old man residing in the Kanaththota area of Akuressa.

He was struck by a train travelling from Kandy to Polgahawela.

Authorities have not yet determined whether he committed suicide or whether it is a genuine accident.

The body of the deceased has been placed in the mortuary at Peradeniya Hospital.
