Wattegama Police have successfully raided an illicit liquor brewery that was being run discreetly inside a house located close to Wattegama town, within the Wattegama Police Division.
Acting on a tip-off, Wattegama Police officers conducted a raid on the house last night.
Upon inspecting one of the rooms, police discovered a large-scale illegal liquor production operation underway.
During the raid, police seized the following items and arrested one suspect:
- Two barrels containing 400 litres of Goda.
- Several cans containing 155 litres of illicit liquor.
- Seven empty barrels and empty cans.
- A large copper coil used for distillation.
- A gas cooker and three gas cylinders, along with other distilling equipment.
The arrested suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Teldeniya Magistrate's Court.
