Colombo Fort Magistrate issued a warrant today (29) ordering the arrest and court presentation of Member of Parliament Jagath Manuwarna for failing to appear in court for two cases.
The warrant relates to two cases filed against the individual in 2008.
When the cases were called before the court today (29), the Parliamentarian did not appear. The attorney representing him informed the Magistrate that his client was unable to attend court as he was participating in the National Land Distribution Program.
Considering the submissions made, the court proceeded to issue the arrest warrant for the individual.
