SSC Grounds revamp accelerates for T20 World Cup

The installation of the new floodlight system at the SSC Grounds in Colombo is expected to be completed by January 15 next year.

The project includes the setup of six light towers at a cost of Rs. 1.8 billion.

Alongside the lighting upgrade, several additional improvements are planned. 

These include renovating the main pavilion and relocating the broadcasting facilities to enhance operational capacity.

The modernization of the SSC Grounds comes as part of preparations for its role as a co-host venue for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
