Devnimori sacred relics open for public

Devotees can personally witness and venerate the historic "Devnimori" Sacred Sarvagna Relics at the Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple starting today, February 5. The relics were brought to Sri Lanka under the full sponsorship of the Indian government to coincide with the 78th Independence Day celebrations.

The Sacred Relics arrived yesterday via a special Indian aircraft at the Katunayake International Airport. Following religious observances and the chanting of Seth Pirith at the airport premises, the relics were escorted to the Colombo Gangaramaya Temple in a special motorcade.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake performed the initial floral tribute to the "Devnimori" Sacred Relics upon their arrival at the temple. Public viewing and veneration will remain open for devotees until February 11.

Assistant Superintendent of Police F.U. Woortler, the Police Media Spokesperson, stated that facilities and designated parking areas have been arranged for the convenience of the pilgrims visiting the temple during this period.
