The University of Peradeniya has issued an urgent security alert following several leopard sightings across the campus and its veterinary faculty farms.
The Office of Vice-Chancellor Professor Terrence Madhujith has warned both staff and students to exercise extreme caution when moving through the grounds.
Official advice states that individuals should avoid travelling alone, particularly during the early morning, evening, and night-time hours.
University authorities have instructed anyone who spots a leopard to contact the University Security Unit immediately.
