Scattered showers or thundershowers will occur in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western, and Uva provinces, as well as Galle, Matara, Mannar, and Anuradhapura districts after 2:00 p.m. today (15). The Department of Meteorology states that fairly heavy rains above 50 mm may occur at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces.
Mist likely prevails at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces, and Galle and Matara districts during the morning. The department requests the public to take necessary measures to minimize damage caused by temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
