Local tourists, residents, and vehicle owners in Nuwara Eliya received guidance on drug prevention today as part of a national operation titled "Country Together." The Nuwara Eliya Headquarters Police conducted the program to educate the public on the dangers of narcotics.
Officers distributed informative leaflets and placed awareness stickers on vehicles during the initiative. To coincide with the "April Season" (Selaalihini Wasanthaya), authorities implemented a special program to apprehend any tourists transporting illegal drugs or illicit cigarettes into the city, according to the Assistant Superintendent of Police for Nuwara Eliya.
