Hydroelectric power plant regions received notable rainfall during the 24 hours ending at 8:30 AM today. The Department of Meteorology reported that Maussakelle recorded 42 mm, Norton 30.7 mm, and Castlereigh 29 mm of rain.
The highest overall rainfall during this duration reached 136.5 mm, recorded in the Medawachchiya area.
A high probability exists for thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western, and Uva provinces after 1:00 PM today. Similar conditions are expected in certain locations within the Galle, Matara, Anuradhapura, Mannar, and Vavuniya districts.
