A notable level of foreign selling was recorded in the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) on May 26.
This resulted in a massive net foreign outflow of Rs. 3.03 billion.
The total market turnover for the day stood at a high Rs. 4.92 billion, with domestic investors actively contributing.
Domestic buying was recorded at Rs. 4.87 billion, while domestic selling stood at Rs. 1.84 billion.
However, foreign investor buying was limited to a very low Rs. 48 million, compared to foreign selling of Rs. 3.08 billion, which was the key highlight.
As a result, the overall daily position reflected a strong net outflow.
This was mainly due to a major foreign shareholder of Softlogic Life Insurance selling part of its stake.
