The elderly allowance for this month is scheduled to be credited to the bank accounts of 625,128 senior citizens over the age of 70 today (29), under the first phase of the Aswesuma welfare benefit scheme.
An amount of 3,125.6 million rupees will be credited in this manner, according to the Welfare Benefits Board.
Under its second phase, an amount of 368.315 million rupees is also scheduled to be credited to the accounts of 73,663 senior citizens over the age of 70 as the elderly allowance for this month.
