Police in Negombo have arrested a 67-year-old man in connection with allegations of cruel and inhumane treatment of two dogs at his residence.
During the arrest, officers found the animals with their mouths tied using string and immediately took them into protective custody.
The dogs have since been confirmed to be in good health.
The suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Negombo Magistrate’s Court today.
