A three-wheel carrying Poson pilgrims collided with a car and a van at the Palampaha area in Aluthpunchikulama, Thirappane, according to Thirappane Police.
The three-wheel, which travelled from Kekirawa towards Anuradhapura, veered into the middle of the road after being hit from behind by a Maruti car, before colliding with an oncoming van, police stated.
The front portion of the three-wheel sustained severe damage, and the driver, a resident of Galle, was admitted to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital, where he undergoes treatment in ward eleven, police added.
The van and the car also sustained damage, and Thirappane Police conduct further investigations into the incident.
