Bandaragama intensifies dengue prevention drive

A rapid increase in the spread of dengue disease continues within the Bandaragama Medical Officer of Health division, according to official reports from the regional health office.

Authorities recorded 675 dengue patients from the area during the period up to now this year alone. In response to the growing risk, public health inspectors, entomological officers, and security personnel launched a special house-to-house inspection to strengthen local dengue control activities.

Officers discovered severe negligence at one residence, finding standing water in six separate locations including a refrigerator tray and garden.

Health officials initiated legal action against the female homeowner for permitting larvae to breed, while issuing red notices and severe warnings to several other non-compliant households.
