Sajith Premadasa pledges support for Sri Lanka’s artists

The Leader of the Opposition, Sajith Premadasa, reaffirmed his support for the country's artists and donated a sum of Rs. 500,000 to the welfare fund of the Outstanding Song Creators Association during a fundraising event organised by the association at the Cinnamon Lakeside in Colombo recently.

The importance of supporting Sri Lanka's artistic community requires emphasis, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa stated here, adding that music always provides mental solace and acts as a reliever of mental stress.

The Leader of the Opposition, Sajith Premadasa, expressed during his remarks that, like his father, former President Ranasinghe Premadasa, he will perform the maximum possible service for artists.

The sum of Rs. 500,000 was donated to support artists facing financial difficulties, following a request made by representatives of the artists' association.
